Composite Restorations
Restorations (white fillings) are now made
to match the natural bite and feel of the original tooth.
In the past however, teeth were filled with black /silver
mercury fillings. With today's technologies, we can replace
old worn mercury fillings with natural-looking, tooth-colored
composite (resin) restorations. Composite restorations are
non-toxic, tooth reinforcing and cosmetically pleasing.
By the way, mercury fillings are a 100-year-old technology.
It is a well-documented fact that mercury is a toxic substance.
It can be more toxic to humans than arsenic, cadmium, or
lead. Some research indicates that each time you bite down
on a mercury filling, you may be releasing a small amount
of mercury vapor into your mouth, and thus into your system.
This "mercury mist" builds up over time very
slowly and may cause you body to have a toxic reaction.
Let Dr. Weigand replace your old fillings with safe, natural-looking
composite restorations.
